Known for Japanese cuisine, this spot draws diners from across Seoul.

Japanese cuisine has deep roots in Seoul, shaped by geographic proximity and a long shared history. Seoul-style Japanese restaurants range from affordable sushi conveyor belts and ramen shops to high-end omakase counters. Quality fish is flown in daily, and Korean chefs often put their own spin on Japanese classics — thicker broths, spicier condiments, and seasonal Korean ingredients woven into traditional recipes.
Seodaemun-gu houses Sinchon and Ewha — university neighborhoods known for affordable food, vibrant nightlife, and a youthful dining culture. The area is dense with budget-friendly Korean restaurants, late-night delivery options, and cafés that stay open until the early hours. It's a neighbourhood where eating well on a student budget is entirely achievable.

View all →We walked in to the restaurant around 6pm on Thursday and we could have bar seats. If you don’t make a reservation, you can’t have the course meal but I actually liked that we can order whatever we wanted. I loved the ddeok (rice cake) most and enjoyed everything we ordered.
Such a cool dining experience! We came here for the 9:00 service, and we really enjoyed the restaurant’s ambience and the food. The various chicken skewers were all delicious and imbued with the fiery taste of charcoal. The 9:00 set menu costs ₩22,000 per person, and you must order a drink, but for the environment and amount of food, it was not a bad price at all. If you’re looking for a chicken skewer omakase place, come to Yakitori Mook!
Ummmm….. 🤨 may be not my expectation.. it’s a too commercial and the food sequence can be improved.. especially the fish “cold corn soup” .. I really can’t figure out what’s the rationale of the chef
