About Jung-Gu

Jung-gu sits at the geographic and commercial center of Seoul, encompassing Myeongdong (K-beauty and street food), Namdaemun Market, and the financial district. I had the Bossam set meal. I saw an article a long time ago about a partnership between Won Grandma and the Bossam franchise, so I went there a while ago, but I was disappointed. The Bossam was overcooked. The meat tasted like a whole piece of pork belly, not samgyeopsal (pork belly). The meat was well-cooked, but the texture wasn't great. Since there was no one in the dark, back alley near the kitchen, rats scurried around on the floor. I went there because Naver said they accepted Zero Pay, but they didn't accept credit cards, let alone Zero Ferry. I don't know if the Won Grandma legend is true, but I understand why they don't accept credit cards despite all these rumors.

A restaurant specializing in bossam (bossam) Located a 5-minute walk from Exit 6 of Jongno 5-ga Station. Bossam Baekban costs 15,000 won. The kimchi looks amazing~ This place seems to emphasize the kimchi. However, it wasn't quite as savory as I'd like. They slice the kimchi and bossam right after you order. The bossam meat seems to be kept warm in a rice cooker before being sliced. The meat is thinner than I expected, so the texture isn't bad. If the meat had been sliced thicker, my jaw might have been a little sore after eating. Place the kimchi on an appetizer plate, dip the bossam in salted shrimp, and top it with sliced garlic dipped in soy sauce. The gochujang sauce adds a surprisingly sweet flavor, which is delicious. The gochujang can sometimes be spicy, so be careful. A few side dishes are served, and the seasoning is good. The spinach salad was particularly good. The overall portion is more than enough for a meal. However, if you're a meat eater, the portions may be disappointing. Store & Tips & Overall Review The store is quite small, with about five four-person tables. There are no two-person tables, so you might feel a bit uneasy during peak times. I visited at 2:30 PM on a Saturday, and I was able to eat right away. Order at your table and pay at the counter when you leave. Credit cards are accepted, but the terminal is covered with a cloth. The previous owner? has retired, and his youngest brother has taken over and is carrying on the business. The building is old, so it has a rustic country house feel. If you're concerned about smells or cleanliness, skip it. I've visited twice after 7:30 PM on weekdays, but they closed due to a lack of ingredients. I recommend going around 6:30 PM on weekday dinners!
