About Jongno-Gu

Jongno-gu is the historic heart of Seoul, containing Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, and Insadong's antique street. The area balances ancient and modern — traditional Korean restaurants, teahouses, and street food vendors operate alongside contemporary galleries and specialty coffee shops. Eating here feels like a connection to centuries of Seoul food culture.

The side dishes were very tasty, and the meatballs were juicy and delicious.

I visited for both lunch and dinner. I was excited because it was the second installment of Eom Yong-baek's Pig Soup near my office. Lunch was charcoal-grilled beef, which was great value for money. You can even refill the soup! Dinner was on the weekend, and the meat was juicy and tender! While the side dishes were limited, I felt Yong-baek was a real hit. Weekday dinners are crowded, but weekends aren't as crowded, so I was able to enjoy a leisurely meal. Lunch specials are also available on weekends. The seasonings for the pork knuckles were all delicious, and the staff were very friendly.
