About 경양식

Western food has been localized in Seoul over decades, emerging as something distinctly Korean in the process. Demi-glace pork cutlets, cream pasta with kimchi, and French-style brunch menus sit alongside Italian pizza and American burgers in Seoul's eclectic restaurant landscape. Many younger Korean chefs trained abroad and returned to open restaurants that blend European technique with Korean ingredients and sensibility.

About Mapo-Gu

Mapo-gu — home to Hongdae, Sinchon, and Hapjeong — is Seoul's youth and arts district, defined by its university population, live music venues, and creative energy. The food scene is diverse, affordable, and experimental: trendy cafés, late-night pojangmacha, global street food, and boundary-pushing restaurants all compete for attention in this perpetually buzzing neighbourhood.

Very unique. I didn’t love the mammoth bread and the cream bread was a bit too messy. Still, I think you should try it.

★★★☆☆Selene.J1 year ago

Came across this bakery so much on social media. The mammoth buns are quite instagrammable. Very interesting textures and flavors of the buns. Great cream to bun ratio for the cream buns, and chestnut fillings for the sourdough bun was more than the bread itself. Recommend to have the mammoth buns fresh within the day, as they turn soggy after being kept in the fridge.

★★★★★Yuliia Novak1 year ago

Came ~15 minutes before opening and there was a queue already. Totally worth waiting though. Original and matcha mammoths were delicious. Cheese one had a strange taste, but still good. Basically it’s a bread stuffed with different fillings. Not too sweet, combinations are excellent - creamy, crunchy, flavorful. I want to come back!
