Rated 4.3 on Naver — very well-reviewed by local diners, featured in 20,771 Korean food blog posts as one of the most talked-about 한식 spots.
Known for traditional Korean cuisine, this spot draws diners from across Seoul.
20 min walk from Nowon Station Station.
Korean cuisine (hansik) is built around balance — fermented sides (banchan), a steaming bowl of rice, and a main dish that changes with the season. Meals are served all at once rather than in courses, and sharing dishes at the table is the norm. The depth of flavor comes from slow-fermented pastes like doenjang (soybean) and gochujang (chili), which form the backbone of soups, stews, and marinades across the country.
Nowon-gu in northeastern Seoul is a large residential district known for its community-focused dining culture. Local restaurants here serve the kinds of meals families eat daily — doenjang jjigae, guk-based soups, grilled fish — without the theatrics of trendier areas. It's a neighbourhood that rewards those looking for genuine everyday Korean food at prices that haven't been adjusted for tourists.

The radish kimchi and cabbage kimchi were delicious, so my expectations were high. The barley rice that comes with it is impressive. The kalguksu noodles are unique and the refreshing broth is perfect.
I was nearby and stopped by Ttukbaegi Clam Kalguksu for lunch! The sign was old, so I went in. ^^ It definitely looked like a great restaurant! I searched and sure enough, it was there! I ordered the handmade kimchi, and my friend was going to order kalguksu, but ended up getting kalguksu instead! There were two types of kimchi @@/ Silbi kimchi and regular kimchi♡ Silbi kimchi is spicy, so I skipped it~~~ It's definitely spicy @@/ They say it tastes good! The regular kimchi is crunchy and slightly spicy, but the savory flavor whets the appetite. ^^# The kalguksu noodles are made with high-quality grains, giving them a chewy texture! They also add plenty of fresh clams, so the broth is refreshing and the fun of pulling them out makes them even better. It's even better than the one I had in Gunsan! The price was reasonable, so I was able to enjoy a delicious meal without feeling burdened! I think kids will love it too... How many restaurants in Seoul can you find that serve clam kalguksu like this? ^^ It was absolutely delicious~ Thank you so much for using only domestic ingredients!
