Known for Japanese cuisine, this spot draws diners from across Seoul.
4 min walk from Sangbong Station Station.
Japanese cuisine has deep roots in Seoul, shaped by geographic proximity and a long shared history. Seoul-style Japanese restaurants range from affordable sushi conveyor belts and ramen shops to high-end omakase counters. Quality fish is flown in daily, and Korean chefs often put their own spin on Japanese classics β thicker broths, spicier condiments, and seasonal Korean ingredients woven into traditional recipes.
Jungnang-gu is a residential district in northeastern Seoul with a working-class food culture built around affordable staples. Local markets, gukbap restaurants, and neighbourhood bunsik shops form the backbone of a dining scene that prioritises value and familiarity.

View all βSushi Ian & I happened to notice that they had opened in MCO while passing by the chain. Compared to other branches in Byeollae and Mukdong, the staff greeted me loudly and seemed bright and energetic. However, the small and cramped space felt cramped, and there was a one-hour waiting time limit. The sushi was stacked in three tiers, making it difficult to reach, and the ubiquitous flounder wasn't visible, so I ordered it separately. I've never seen flounder sashimi this small before.
It's good value for money, but it's salty because they put too much sauce on it.
It's a conveyor belt sushi place, so it's a flat price per plate, so it's easy to pay while you eat, the service is fast, and the staff are cheerful and bright, which was nice. The only thing is that the sashimi is a bit thin, but for the price, I'm personally satisfied with the quality.
