Known for Japanese cuisine, this spot draws diners from across Seoul.
11 min walk from Gunja Station Station, making it easy to combine your meal with a visit to nearby attractions like Konkuk University Area Guide: Student Eats & Common Ground.
Japanese cuisine has deep roots in Seoul, shaped by geographic proximity and a long shared history. Seoul-style Japanese restaurants range from affordable sushi conveyor belts and ramen shops to high-end omakase counters. Quality fish is flown in daily, and Korean chefs often put their own spin on Japanese classics — thicker broths, spicier condiments, and seasonal Korean ingredients woven into traditional recipes.
Gwangjin-gu's Konkuk University area has a dense concentration of restaurants catering to students — affordable, diverse, and open late. The area is a reliable destination for budget Korean dining: tteokbokki, kimbap, and pork cutlet restaurants line the streets near the university gates.

View all →Hmm... It was a bit embarrassing to call it sushi. The rice balls were unevenly sized, and the sugar was excessive, making the sticky rice balls blend with the thin slices of fish, leaving no texture and just sweetness. Contrary to its appearance from the outside, the restaurant didn't have the signature ginger and vinegar smell of a sushi restaurant. Instead, it smelled like a strange cosmetic product. The miso soup bowl was sticky and had something on it, making it incredibly unsanitary. The miso and udon tasted exactly like store-bought ones, perhaps because they were using store-bought miso paste and udon. At first, I thought it was cheap, but after eating it, I thought it would be better to raise the price and use quality sashimi instead. It's a neighborhood business, so people will go anyway, but this is definitely not a delicious sushi place. There was no freshness at all. The salad was fresh, but the tempura crumbs instead of sauce were a real turn-off. It was greasy and fishy. It had a strange flavor, and I don't know why they added it.
Went here for lunch. We arrived shortly after it opened, and by 11:45 it was already full. We ordered a Lunch Set and a Special Sushi. The taste and quality were what you would expect for the price. It seemed like most customers were here for the very reasonably priced Lunch Set. The sets came with miso soup, salad, udon, and plum juice.
