About 일식

Japanese cuisine has deep roots in Seoul, shaped by geographic proximity and a long shared history. Seoul-style Japanese restaurants range from affordable sushi conveyor belts and ramen shops to high-end omakase counters. Quality fish is flown in daily, and Korean chefs often put their own spin on Japanese classics — thicker broths, spicier condiments, and seasonal Korean ingredients woven into traditional recipes.

About Jongno-Gu

Jongno-gu is the historic heart of Seoul, containing Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, and Insadong's antique street. The area balances ancient and modern — traditional Korean restaurants, teahouses, and street food vendors operate alongside contemporary galleries and specialty coffee shops. Eating here feels like a connection to centuries of Seoul food culture.

A Japanese restaurant in Gwanghwamun where you can savor exceptional Japanese noodle dishes! While all the dishes are top-notch and satisfying, Jingawa's noodles were truly something I'd never experienced before. The texture and chewiness of the noodles made them truly exceptional. The soba made with somen and the udon made with Jingawa's noodles are a definite departure from the ready-made dishes I'm used to. While many Japanese restaurants excel at sashimi and sushi, not many offer such distinctive and special noodles. If you love noodles, this is a must-try.

My husband and I visited for our anniversary, and we were delighted with everything, from the atmosphere to the food. We had the Jinga and Special Course, and each dish was carefully prepared. The gyu-nabe and tenobe noodles were especially delicious. They have separate private rooms, making it a great place for family gatherings or company dinners. The staff was also attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this place if you want to enjoy a quiet course meal in Gwanghwamun.

This is a famous Japanese restaurant in Gwanghwamun. I had the Jinga and Special Course, and the food was very well-presented and generous, so I was full halfway through. They claim to specialize in noodles, and all the noodles were of excellent quality. Personally, I loved the aged sashimi. The quality of the sashimi was excellent, and the sashimi was perfectly aged. I think it would be nice to have a company dinner at a more formal place like this, rather than a meat restaurant where you can pour as much as you want.
