About Seongdong-Gu

Seongdong-gu's Seongsu-dong has transformed from an industrial zone into Seoul's most talked-about food and culture district. Nicknamed 'Seoul's Brooklyn,' it hosts artisan roasters, pop-up restaurants, and concept cafés in renovated factories alongside high-end boutiques. The food scene rewards curiosity — the best spots are often down an alleyway or behind an unmarked door.

Came at 6pm on a Monday and was immediately seated at a table with banchan and an octopus tofu hot pot ready to serve (complimentary!). Came with raw tripe too and it tasted very clean. Dip into their chilli sauce and sesame salt oil 🤤 ordered the mix set which came with beef heart and we really liked it! For a gopchang first timer, it was so helpful when the waiter came and helped with the cooking and even showed us how to enjoy the intestines, great service!! Ask for rice towards the end of the bbq and they’ll bring your hot plate back to cook the rice with the leftover meat and drippings 🤤🤤 wasabi + capers on gopchang is such a good combination

I arrived around 4:30 PM, was seated right away, but the restaurant was bustling. I just missed the need to queue as I was leaving there were customers waiting outside the restaurant. As I was seated, soup was on the stove. It wasn't bad, but I felt they could do without it. Ordered the everything grill (모듬구이) with an extra order of 대창. It was delicious, clean taste. There are instructions on the wall advising you to order enough servings of meat as additional orders to grill is not possible and you are reminded while they take your order. They put two pieces of bread to soak up the excess fat. You can place your jacket and belongings inside the barrel shaped seats. Overall a good experience, recommend if you are looking for offal places, it's a solid choice.

Excellent gopchang, and certainly better than anything in KTown LA. Electric kiosk for waiting line. Not smoky at all, friendly and efficient service. Awesome tofu soup with a deep, spicy broth and always get the fried rice at the end!
