About 한식

Korean cuisine (hansik) is built around balance — fermented sides (banchan), a steaming bowl of rice, and a main dish that changes with the season. Meals are served all at once rather than in courses, and sharing dishes at the table is the norm. The depth of flavor comes from slow-fermented pastes like doenjang (soybean) and gochujang (chili), which form the backbone of soups, stews, and marinades across the country.

About Songpa-Gu

Songpa-gu includes Jamsil, Olympic Park, and Lotte World Tower — one of the world's tallest buildings and a major tourism hub. The food scene is family-friendly and commercially vibrant: department store food halls, international chains, and Korean comfort food restaurants that cater to the large residential population. Lotte World Mall's food floor alone contains dozens of notable dining options.

June 2024 I tried the seafood stir-fried chicken (small) and four pieces of shrimp tempura. The seafood stir-fried chicken was ready to eat as soon as it arrived. At first bite, it felt a little sweet, but after the second, the sweetness gradually faded and it became delicious. The shrimp tempura was served very hot, so I almost broke my hand while picking it up. It's definitely best eaten hot. However, it wasn't much different from the shrimp tempura I've had elsewhere. In the seafood stir-fried chicken, the chicken had quite a few bones, so I didn't really feel like I ate much meat. There were neck bones and breast bones, so I wish there had been more seafood, but even seafood wasn't a lot. The small portion was supposed to serve two, but it was definitely enough for two people. It wasn't enough for three. So, I ordered two servings of fried rice. Of course, they took the grill, leaving only the seasoning, with all the ingredients removed... A short while later, the perfectly cooked fried rice came out. The fried rice tasted exactly like the spicy stir-fried rice I had when I had the spicy stir-fried chicken ribs... So, I couldn't leave any behind. In other words, if you order the small portion, one side, and two bowls of rice, it's just enough to fill three people, so I'd say it would cost around 40,000 won. 2024.06 I tried the small portion of seafood stir-fried chicken and four pieces of shrimp tempura.
