About 한식

Korean cuisine (hansik) is built around balance — fermented sides (banchan), a steaming bowl of rice, and a main dish that changes with the season. Meals are served all at once rather than in courses, and sharing dishes at the table is the norm. The depth of flavor comes from slow-fermented pastes like doenjang (soybean) and gochujang (chili), which form the backbone of soups, stews, and marinades across the country.

About Eunpyeong-Gu

Eunpyeong-gu sits at the northwestern edge of Seoul, where the city meets the mountains of Bukhansan National Park. The area has a quiet, residential character with a food scene that reflects its local community — traditional Korean home-style cooking, neighbourhood pojangmacha, and teahouses tucked between hiking trail entrances.

Meats like pork belly are perfectly cooked when the grill is hot enough, but when it comes to ribs, the charcoal is so weak that it takes about 20 minutes to cook. I recommend going somewhere else.

This restaurant is an infinite refill meat restaurant and there are various types of meat. When the fire weakens, charcoal is added. The downside is that it's a little noisy.

This is the worst barbecue restaurant. As you can see in the picture, the charcoal is almost dead. When I told them the charcoal was weak and they said it was still good enough to grill meat, I asked for more, and they asked if I could grill the meat when it would all burn. I'm not a first-time meat eater, and when I asked for more, they gave me two charcoal sticks the size of my fingers that weren't even new, and they were grilling the meat like this. I think it took about 20 minutes to grill one round of meat. In the last picture, when I asked them to change the grill after bringing the meat, they asked me, "Are you going to eat more after 2 hours?" Who eats while keeping an eye on the time? They either tell you in advance that it's almost 2 hours, or they tell you that since it's been 2 hours, you should just eat this. When I asked them to change the grill, they replied as if they couldn't do it after 2 hours. I guess this is the restaurant's policy with the charcoal and grill. 8 of us went for a meal and left feeling really bad. I feel so bad. I told myself I should write a review, but it seems like I should do it myself... I feel really bad.
