Known for traditional Korean cuisine, this spot draws diners from across Seoul.
16 min walk from Cheonho Station Station.
Korean cuisine (hansik) is built around balance — fermented sides (banchan), a steaming bowl of rice, and a main dish that changes with the season. Meals are served all at once rather than in courses, and sharing dishes at the table is the norm. The depth of flavor comes from slow-fermented pastes like doenjang (soybean) and gochujang (chili), which form the backbone of soups, stews, and marinades across the country.
Gangdong-gu in southeastern Seoul is a family-oriented district known for its community markets and traditional Korean restaurants. Cheonho Market offers one of Seoul's best selections of traditional banchan, grilled fish, and home-style Korean cooking away from the tourist circuit.

The noodles were hand-kneaded and hand-pulled by a master who has worked exclusively with buckwheat for 48 years, and the buckwheat flavor was strong. I ordered warm noodles, perilla-garlic potato ongsimi, boiled pork in a dish, and charcoal-grilled rib dumplings. The warm noodles were delicious, with a rich broth and a subtle buckwheat flavor. The potato ongsimi was soft and had a rich, nutty perilla flavor, warming my stomach. It was a great value and a delicious meal.
The makguksu is so delicious. Homemade buckwheat noodles from a 48-year-old makguksu master are perfect for when you don't have an appetite. It's easy on the digestion and a winter delicacy. The dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken) and fried dumplings I ordered alongside it are also great as a drinking snack.
Parking is convenient and the food is delicious!! It's great for kids because there are so many options to choose from. The ongshim (Korean dumpling) was chewy, and I loved the buckwheat noodle soup inside. The bossam (bossam) was soft and moist, with no gamey smell, and it was delicious :)
