About 분식

Bunsik — Korean street-food snacks — evolved as affordable, filling fare for students and workers after the Korean War. Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), kimbap (seaweed rice rolls), sundae (blood sausage), and odeng (fish cake skewers in broth) are the staples. Most bunsik restaurants are fast, casual, and open late, making them a go-to for a quick hot meal at any hour.

About Jongno-Gu

Jongno-gu is the historic heart of Seoul, containing Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, and Insadong's antique street. The area balances ancient and modern — traditional Korean restaurants, teahouses, and street food vendors operate alongside contemporary galleries and specialty coffee shops. Eating here feels like a connection to centuries of Seoul food culture.

One of the best restaurants we visited during our trip to Seoul. It’s a small, cozy place and an absolutely perfect spot for lunch. There was a queue when we arrived, but it moved surprisingly fast, so the wait was not a problem at all. While waiting, we could watch the ladies inside making the dumplings by hand, which was really interesting and gave us a great first impression. Everything we ordered was freshly made and tasted amazing. The quality of the food was excellent, especially considering how fair and reasonable the prices are. We ordered the Bossam set along with a soup, and it was more than enough food for two people. The portions were generous, and everything was well balanced and full of flavor. As foreigners, we really appreciated how kind and attentive the staff were. They took the time to show us how to properly assemble the food and explained the best way to eat it, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable and comfortable. The service felt warm and welcoming, not rushed at all. Overall, this place offered not only delicious food but also a great experience from start to finish. We enjoyed it so much that we would absolutely come back again on our next visit to Seoul. Highly recommended!

Tried both the pork mandus, with the soup and without. Portions are indeed very generous and the meat is quite tasty. The broth could have been a bit more rich or perhaps I should have ordered the kimchi ones, but compared to other meals we’ve had in Seoul I was a little disappointed. Since it’s a bib gourmand and a bit more pricey, I was expected more than this. Still very good though.

This place is pretty famous and always has a line outside. The wait was short we waited for about 10 min to get in. We ordered the bossam set and dumpling casserole. Dumplings are giant with good fillings. Maybe I had a high expectation. The dumplings soup taste good but nothing special in terms of flavor.
