N Seoul Tower (남산서울타워)
Standing 236 meters tall atop Namsan Mountain, N Seoul Tower is Seoul's most recognizable landmark — and the backdrop for the jaw-dropping finale of Netflix's KPop Demon Hunters.
In the film, Huntrix faces off against the demon ruler Gwi-Ma in an epic battle beneath a fictional pentagonal stadium built around the tower.
The KPop Demon Hunters Connection
The tower appears multiple times throughout the film, but its most memorable role is as the setting for the climactic final battle.
As Huntrix channels the power of music to seal the "혼문" (Soul Gate), the tower's silhouette glows against Seoul's night skyline — a scene that has become iconic among fans worldwide.
- Final Battle Scene: The pentagonal arena beneath the tower where Saja Boys perform and Gwi-Ma feeds on energy
- Soul Gate Sealing: Huntrix completes the protective barrier (결계) at the tower's base
- Night Skyline Shots: Multiple establishing shots use the tower as Seoul's visual anchor

Love Lock Terrace
The Love Lock Fence on the outdoor terrace is one of Seoul's most romantic spots. Thousands of padlocks left by couples create a colorful mosaic.
You can buy locks from the gift shop (₩5,000–15,000) or bring your own. The terrace is free to access — no observatory ticket needed.
Best Time to Visit
- Sunset (5-7 PM) — Watch Seoul transform from day to night. Arrive 30 min before sunset for the best spot.
- Clear winter nights — The coldest, clearest evenings offer visibility up to 80km.
- Avoid: Weekend evenings and holidays (very long queues for cable car and observatory).
N Seoul Tower changes color based on air quality — Blue means excellent, Green is good, Yellow is moderate, and Red means poor air quality. Check the color before heading up for the best views!
Drama and K-Pop Connections Beyond the Film
N Seoul Tower's role in KPop Demon Hunters is its biggest screen moment, but the tower has been a fixture in Korean pop culture for decades. It appeared in "My Love from the Star" as the backdrop for romantic night scenes. "Boys Over Flowers" used the Love Lock fence as a key story location. For international fans, visiting feels like arriving at a place they've seen on screen dozens of times before actually standing in front of it — a sensation that's specific to Seoul and the density of filming that happens here.
The tower's color-changing illumination system has also featured in K-pop music videos. When the lighting shifts from blue to purple on a clear night, the effect on the Seoul skyline is dramatic enough to understand why cinematographers return here repeatedly.
Planning Your Visit: The Honest Version
The observatory is worth doing once — the scale of Seoul from 500 meters up is genuinely impressive. But the outdoor terrace, which is free, gives you much of the visual payoff without the queue or the ticket cost. If you're on a budget or short on time, the terrace plus the cable car ride up is a satisfying combination at a fraction of the observatory price.
The Love Lock fence on the outdoor terrace is more moving in person than photos suggest. The sheer volume of padlocks — thousands, accumulated over years — creates a texture and weight that images flatten. Reading the inscriptions on nearby locks is oddly engaging.
- Skip the observatory if: visibility is below average (hazy days wash out the distant views), or you've already been to Lotte World Tower's Seoul Sky.
- Don't skip the terrace: It's free, the views are excellent, and the Love Lock fence is a genuinely interesting piece of collective human behavior to observe.
- Cable car timing: The queue for the cable car up can reach 30–40 minutes on weekend evenings. Walking up takes 35 minutes but is genuinely pleasant through the forested path.
