Known for traditional Korean cuisine, this spot draws diners from across Seoul.
45 min walk from Dongjak Station Station.
Korean cuisine (hansik) is built around balance — fermented sides (banchan), a steaming bowl of rice, and a main dish that changes with the season. Meals are served all at once rather than in courses, and sharing dishes at the table is the norm. The depth of flavor comes from slow-fermented pastes like doenjang (soybean) and gochujang (chili), which form the backbone of soups, stews, and marinades across the country.
Dongjak-gu spans the southern bank of the Han River, with Noryangjin Fish Market — one of Seoul's largest wholesale and retail seafood markets — as its defining food landmark. Eating fresh sashimi at the market itself, surrounded by tanks of live seafood, is a quintessential Seoul experience available around the clock.

View all →Beef Tartare & Salmon Specialty Chain Located a 3-minute walk from Noryangjin Station Exit 3. The Assorted Sushi 12-Piece Set costs 15,400 won. **What is Beef Tartare?** This place sells menus featuring beef tartare and salmon, ranging from rice bowls to sushi. I decided to try the sushi, which is the safest bet! The assortment consists of salmon, beef tartare, and steak sushi. The sushi pieces were small, but the portion size was sufficient. Of the three, the beef tartare was delicious, while the salmon was disappointing. The beef tartare sushi had a subtle seasoning flavor, and its unique aroma and taste were surprisingly appealing. The steak sushi felt like lightly grilled beef tartare placed on top; it paired well with the sauce and was decent. The problem was the salmon. The salmon I eat these days is all tasteless. In the past, the rich, oily flavor was its charm, but now it feels bland and indistinguishable. Without any sauce, it was basically just the taste of rice. Considering the price, it didn't feel like a cheap menu item. Store & Tips & Overall Review The store is cozy, but there are a few tables available. It consists of tables for solo diners and two-person tables, making it a good place to dine alone. Orders and payments are processed via kiosks on the tables, and everything is self-service. You can also get soup from the self-service bar. It is a franchise store that appears frequently these days, Personally, I think the rice bowls offer better value for money than the sushi! The store has a clean and bright atmosphere, making it a decent place to dine.
The owner is friendly and the food is delicious. However, the restaurant is small and the tables aren't large. Even a one-person set for two people is full.
Steak sushi is awesome!!!! ♡ This was my first time trying steak sushi, and it's a work of art. You absolutely must try this. The fried squid is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It's great for a beer with friends, as well as a meal and snacks. This was my first time trying the raw salmon... I didn't get a picture of the raw salmon at the Noryangjin Central branch, but ㅠㅜ The salmon and raw fish are super fresh, and the owner is super friendly. It's the best! :) Highly recommended!!
