About Yongsan-Gu

Yongsan-gu contains Itaewon — Seoul's most international neighbourhood — as well as the scenic Hannam district and Yongsan Electronics Market. Itaewon's food scene reflects its global community: Indian, Middle Eastern, African, and American restaurants share streets with high-end Korean and Japanese establishments. It's also where many of Seoul's foreign chefs have set up their most ambitious projects.

이집은 김치가 재일 맛있다. I had high expectations for Egg and Flour, especially given the Michelin recognition and the star-chef pedigree—but the overall experience was underwhelming. The pasta itself was technically well executed. The noodles were cooked perfectly—great texture, proper bite, clearly made with care. Unfortunately, that’s where most of the excitement stopped. The lemon pasta dish promised brightness but delivered very little lemon character. The zest and aroma just weren’t there, and the overall flavor profile came across bland and surprisingly unoriginal for a place with this reputation. Other dishes followed a similar pattern—visually appealing, structurally sound, but lacking the depth and boldness you hope for when paying premium prices. Oddly enough, the standout item of the meal was the pickled 배추 served on the side—crisp, punchy, and memorable. Not what you expect to be the highlight at a pasta-forward restaurant. Credit where it’s due: the service was warm and attentive, and the views were genuinely lovely. Staff did their part to make the experience pleasant. Bottom line: if you’re on the fence, reputation alone isn’t enough reason to go. There are more flavorful meals to be had for the same money elsewhere. Michelin list or not—flavor still has to show up to the table.

Such good homemade pasta! I’d love to go back soon to try more of the menu. Just note that in the evening there’s a one-drink-per-person minimum. We also had a view of Namsan Tower in distance! Would definitely recommend grabbing a spot on the terrace if you can when making your reservation.

Truly excellent and cannot wait to return! Visited for lunch and enjoyed the three course lunch with a bottle of Veuve Cliquot Champagne. The pastas were of the highest quality and so much so we ordered more pasta to try the balance of the menu. The team provided outstanding service and attention and the enclosed terrace seating is perfect on a sunny autumn day. Highly recommend.
