About 한식

Korean cuisine (hansik) is built around balance — fermented sides (banchan), a steaming bowl of rice, and a main dish that changes with the season. Meals are served all at once rather than in courses, and sharing dishes at the table is the norm. The depth of flavor comes from slow-fermented pastes like doenjang (soybean) and gochujang (chili), which form the backbone of soups, stews, and marinades across the country.

About Jongno-Gu

Jongno-gu is the historic heart of Seoul, containing Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, and Insadong's antique street. The area balances ancient and modern — traditional Korean restaurants, teahouses, and street food vendors operate alongside contemporary galleries and specialty coffee shops. Eating here feels like a connection to centuries of Seoul food culture.

The store has a very clean and well-designed layout with a modern Korean style that feels comfortable and welcoming. My friends and I arrived right at opening time and were lucky enough to get seats immediately—within just 10 minutes after we sat down, the restaurant was already full, which says a lot about its popularity. The food portions are generous, and the signature spicy octopus noodles are only available for two people or more, so it’s definitely better to come in a group and share. We also tried the non-spicy clam noodles, which were absolutely delicious—the clams were fresh, sweet, and full of flavor. If I had to rank the dishes, the seafood fried pancake would be my top pick, but the spicy octopus noodles are a must-try as well. One small regret is that we didn’t get to try the fried potato chips, but that just gives me a good reason to come back again next time!

both noodles and pancake are tasty! The octopus noodles are spicy but flavorful. Pancake is super crispy. Portion is large!!

不好吃 不好吃 家楼下面馆都比这个服务好还要好吃 喜欢mean人的可以来试试店员男女的莫名其妙笑 Went to Shilla Noodle House today🙂 Waited almost two hours in line, and honestly… it’s just regular knife-cut noodles. Nothing special, not terrible, but definitely not worth the hype or the wait. The octopus noodles had a really strong fishy smell — kinda hard to eat, to be honest🤔 But the fun part started after we got in. The staff seemed confused by what I said, then looked at each other and laughed. Not sure what was so funny🙂 They spoke perfectly fine English to other customers, but when I used Korean, their attitude suddenly got colder. Interesting, huh?ㅋㅋ If you’re not comfortable serving foreigners, maybe just put up a sign saying “Foreigners not welcome.” Would save everyone some time — and fake smiles😉
