About 경양식

Western food has been localized in Seoul over decades, emerging as something distinctly Korean in the process. Demi-glace pork cutlets, cream pasta with kimchi, and French-style brunch menus sit alongside Italian pizza and American burgers in Seoul's eclectic restaurant landscape. Many younger Korean chefs trained abroad and returned to open restaurants that blend European technique with Korean ingredients and sensibility.

About Nowon-Gu

Nowon-gu in northeastern Seoul is a large residential district known for its community-focused dining culture. Local restaurants here serve the kinds of meals families eat daily — doenjang jjigae, guk-based soups, grilled fish — without the theatrics of trendier areas. It's a neighbourhood that rewards those looking for genuine everyday Korean food at prices that haven't been adjusted for tourists.

What Visitors Say

★★★☆☆masizzung chocowooyoo1 year ago

If you want to put everything else aside and just fill your stomach reasonably well at a relatively cheap price, this is a place worth visiting. The food isn't particularly outstanding; it feels like a generic Gimbap Cheonguk that just throws together a little bit of everything. It seems they use mass-produced ingredients, so it's difficult to expect anything special or great taste, but the prices are relatively low (though not exactly cheap). A noticeable downside is that the cutlery, such as spoons and chopsticks, has a slightly sticky residue, and there are quite a few visible traces. Bugs were crawling openly on the floor. I didn't report them because they could have come in from outside and weren't cockroaches, but even though my companions and I talked about the bugs crawling around for quite a while, they didn't seem to have any intention of chasing them away or catching them, especially since there weren't many customers. Because of this, I can't help but feel like they wouldn't have taken any action even if a cockroach had appeared. Is that just unnecessary worry? I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who is particular about hygiene.
