About 한식

Korean cuisine (hansik) is built around balance — fermented sides (banchan), a steaming bowl of rice, and a main dish that changes with the season. Meals are served all at once rather than in courses, and sharing dishes at the table is the norm. The depth of flavor comes from slow-fermented pastes like doenjang (soybean) and gochujang (chili), which form the backbone of soups, stews, and marinades across the country.

About Jongno-Gu

Jongno-gu is the historic heart of Seoul, containing Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, and Insadong's antique street. The area balances ancient and modern — traditional Korean restaurants, teahouses, and street food vendors operate alongside contemporary galleries and specialty coffee shops. Eating here feels like a connection to centuries of Seoul food culture.

Really enjoyable meal. It's family style dining where you order and everything is placed on the table in front of you to share. There were multiple courses. The staff were really friendly. And the most amazing part is that at the end when I went to pay the bill, I was shocked at how little the price was. A great meal for a great price, can't beat that.

We were taken here by a Korean friend who's been coming here for years. We got the "set" menu, which means all you can eat. For less than $80, five people ate until getting stuffed. It was easily the best Korean food we had in Korea. We also got a private room which was convenient and at the end of the meal they gave us a plum tea that is one of the best liquids my mouth has ever experienced.

Chanced upon this restaurant that seemed really popular (full house). Got the set meal. Overall, a great meal. Bulgolgi beef was good and the soy bean tofu soup was heartwarming.
