About Jongno-Gu

Jongno-gu is the historic heart of Seoul, containing Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, and Insadong's antique street. The area balances ancient and modern — traditional Korean restaurants, teahouses, and street food vendors operate alongside contemporary galleries and specialty coffee shops. What Visitors Say

Insadong is the perfect district in Seoul to immerse yourself in traditional Korean culture and escape the city’s high-tech bustle. The main street is lined with beautifully preserved hanok style buildings, art galleries showcasing calligraphy and fine arts, and classic tea houses serving traditional brews. It’s a wonderful place to shop for meaningful, handmade souvenirs like traditional papers (hanji), ceramics, and antique items. The highlight for shoppers is Ssamziegil, an architecturally unique, spiral-shaped mall designed like a traditional Korean courtyard. You’ll find four floors packed with small, independent boutiques offering novelty items, whimsical modern crafts, and unique souvenirs that are distinctly Korean—far beyond the typical tourist fare. From quirky accessories to handmade jewelry and art, Ssamziegil is the best place to find that one-of-a-kind gift.

Open air mall with many unique shops selling handmade and interesting products. Great vibes beautiful lights at night unlike usual big malls feel more personal. Good place to walk after dinner.

This is a great little arts and crafts store location with some cool stores. There is some food and a donut place on the top floor. We bought a few items throughout the mall and had a nice drink from the donut place. Our hotel nearby gave us coupons as well to use here. Recommend this place for little souvenirs to bring back home.
