About 한식

Korean cuisine (hansik) is built around balance — fermented sides (banchan), a steaming bowl of rice, and a main dish that changes with the season. Meals are served all at once rather than in courses, and sharing dishes at the table is the norm. The depth of flavor comes from slow-fermented pastes like doenjang (soybean) and gochujang (chili), which form the backbone of soups, stews, and marinades across the country.

About Yongsan-Gu

Yongsan-gu contains Itaewon — Seoul's most international neighbourhood — as well as the scenic Hannam district and Yongsan Electronics Market. Itaewon's food scene reflects its global community: Indian, Middle Eastern, African, and American restaurants share streets with high-end Korean and Japanese establishments. It's also where many of Seoul's foreign chefs have set up their most ambitious projects.

Today I had the chance to visit an absolutely impressive restaurant. The grilled meat was tender, fragrant, and seasoned perfectly – you can really taste the care in every bite. The mussels were fresh, and the broth was rich yet not too salty, striking a great balance. Not only was the food delicious, but the biggest highlight was the friendly and attentive owner and staff – they made the experience feel as cosy as dining at home. If you’re looking for a place with high-quality dishes and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, this is definitely a spot worth trying!

This was my first time trying Korean-style BBQ ribs in Itaewon, and honestly, it was nothing like the BBQ I’m used to back home — in the best way possible. Completely different style and flavors, but seriously good. The original flavor was already amazing, but if you can handle some heat, I’d definitely recommend trying the spicy version at least once. It hits different 🔥 Pair it with Korean soju and it’s a perfect combo. If you’re into Korean food or just want to try something beyond the usual BBQ, this place is a must-visit in Itaewon. I’d 100% come back.

Honestly, this Korean BBQ blew me away. The meat was super tender, and eating it with your hands just made it more fun. The Korean-style soju was a perfect match too — way smoother than I expected and went so well with the BBQ. Didn’t expect to find a hidden gem like this in Itaewon, but I’m glad I did. Definitely coming back next time I’m in the area.
