About Jongno-Gu

Jongno-gu is the historic heart of Seoul, containing Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, and Insadong's antique street. The area balances ancient and modern — traditional Korean restaurants, teahouses, and street food vendors operate alongside contemporary galleries and specialty coffee shops. Eating here feels like a connection to centuries of Seoul food culture.

My first Samgyetang experience! Go up one floor and refer to the picture shown, you’ll see a lot of Ginseng in jar before you enter. The restaurant owner and staffs were helpful, there were English menu available as well. One of the best kimchi I’ve had, even after trying out so many of Korean restaurants!

The Yak-samgaetang (with medicinal herbs) was good, not slightly bitter. The chicken was decently meaty. The bowl was served boiling. Tip: bring your own napkins. Card accepted.

What hidden gem and also a the fact the entrance is also a bit hidden. Look up the stairs and you will see the restaurant. It's. Avery simple menu and help yourself to the Kimich side dishes. They serve each bowl with a shot of ginseng soju shot. Coming in November is great timing as it's cold outside and this really warms the body.
