About Jung-Gu

Jung-gu sits at the geographic and commercial center of Seoul, encompassing Myeongdong (K-beauty and street food), Namdaemun Market, and the financial district. One of my fave dishes is Andong Jjimdak, and this place did a decent job. It’s definitely on the touristy side, but the food hits the spot when you’re craving something comforting and hearty. Not really the kind of place for long chit-chat more like eat, satisfy the craving, and go. If you’re around Myeongdong, it’s a solid option. Queue was reasonable and moved pretty fast too.

Andong Jjimdak in Myeongdong – Solid 7/10 Had the classic Andong jjimdak at this busy Myeongdong spot. Portion is massive – easily shared between two – loaded with chicken, glass noodles, potatoes and vegetables. The sauce is the highlight: rich, sweet-soy and super flavourful, coats everything perfectly. Chicken is tender and not dry, though it felt a little under-marinated in spots. Service really stood out – the staff were genuinely passionate, smiling the whole time, and even offered to take a group photo for us without us asking. Those small touches make a difference. All in all, tasty, comforting and great value. Happy 7/10

Andong Jjimdak — one of my Korea bucket-list dishes. This is a place I always note down as a must-return restaurant whenever I’m back in Korea. The noodles with braised chicken were excellent — chewy and soft noodles stir-fried with tender chicken, rich aroma, and bold, well-balanced flavors. Comforting, satisfying, and absolutely worth coming back for.
