About Seongbuk-Gu

Seongbuk-gu is home to Bukchon's quieter neighbour and Seoul's most literary neighbourhood, with independent bookshops and traditional restaurants tucked between old residential alleys. Ssangmun-dong's street food markets and the traditional teahouses of Samcheong-dong are highlights of this culturally rich but less-touristed district.

What Visitors Say

I visited Osai Sushi Daehakro, a Hyehwa omakase restaurant with great value. I was able to watch the chef prepare the sushi right in front of me, and he even provided detailed explanations, which made the food even more delicious. It was so good value that I'll definitely be back!

This is the best in this price range. The sushi rice is generously portioned, and the neta (toppings) are supermarket-sized, which I think is just right. The eggplant sushi is their signature dish. And the maki is delicious. The facilities are very clean and nice. I've been to many places that are tastier and offer larger toppings, but dinner costs around 150,000-200,000 won, so there's no comparison. That said, it's not five times the portion size or five times the flavor, so I think this is a good option for this price range.

I visited Omakase Osai Sushi's Daehakro branch. 🍣 The fresh sashimi was truly exquisite! The melt-in-your-mouth texture and clean flavor were truly impressive. The chef carefully prepared each piece, making the entire meal feel like a special moment. ✨ The restaurant's calm and sophisticated atmosphere makes it perfect for dates or anniversary dinners. It's a place where you can enjoy sushi while quietly chatting, which was very satisfying. If you're looking for high-end sushi in Hyehwa, I highly recommend this place!
