About 일식

Japanese cuisine has deep roots in Seoul, shaped by geographic proximity and a long shared history. Seoul-style Japanese restaurants range from affordable sushi conveyor belts and ramen shops to high-end omakase counters. Quality fish is flown in daily, and Korean chefs often put their own spin on Japanese classics — thicker broths, spicier condiments, and seasonal Korean ingredients woven into traditional recipes.

About Seongdong-Gu

Seongdong-gu's Seongsu-dong has transformed from an industrial zone into Seoul's most talked-about food and culture district. Nicknamed 'Seoul's Brooklyn,' it hosts artisan roasters, pop-up restaurants, and concept cafés in renovated factories alongside high-end boutiques. The food scene rewards curiosity — the best spots are often down an alleyway or behind an unmarked door.

What Visitors Say

This restaurant offers such great value that it makes you wonder, "Is this level of quality possible at this price?" The set menu is incredibly filling, with each piece of sushi fresh and the perfect amount of rice, making it a delightful experience. The side dishes, like the warm udon and crispy tempura, aren't just for show; they're delicious and filling. The restaurant is incredibly spacious and open, making for a comfortable, uncluttered dining experience. It's also a great choice for family gatherings. I highly recommend this restaurant for any sushi craving without hesitation!

I think Sangmu Sushi is the best around Wangsimni!! The sashimi is thick and fresh, and I enjoyed the soy sauce shrimp sushi so much I even ordered another. The pork cutlet was delicious and affordable, making it a great side dish. I'd definitely return! Highly recommended!👍🏻

The portions were decent and it was delicious. The udon was also delicious. Haha. The portions of rice were a bit large. However, the staff was a bit rude. Haha. It wasn't a busy time.
