From the moment we stepped into our private dining room, it was clear this would be more than just a meal—it was a meticulously curated culinary journey. The 10-course set menu showcased the very best of refined Korean cuisine, executed with finesse and presented like art. Each dish was crafted with precision, balancing traditional ingredients with modern techniques in a way that celebrated flavour, texture, and storytelling. The progression of courses was exceptional—starting with elegant small bites, moving into seasonal vegetables, seafood, and specialty meats, and finishing with delicately balanced desserts that left a lasting impression. Every plate was beautifully composed, and each came with a thoughtful explanation, enhancing appreciation for the creativity and cultural heritage behind it. 📌 Highlights Private dining experience offering absolute tranquillity and attention to detail. Ingredients were impeccably fresh, with many locally sourced and seasonal. Every dish arrived timed perfectly, never rushed yet never delayed. Service was discreet, professional and deeply knowledgeable—anticipating every need without ever interrupting the flow of the evening. The plating alone was gallery-worthy. At times, it felt like experiencing edible art. The broth course & abalone dish were standout moments—rich, delicate and technically flawless. The balance of textures across the menu was exceptional, from crispy to melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. Desserts were inventive and refined, ending the experience on a harmonious note rather than overpowering sweetness. 🎖️ Final Verdict This dining experience strikes the perfect harmony between tradition and innovation, offering luxury without pretension. From the quality of ingredients to the cadence of the courses and the serenity of the private space, it’s clear that every aspect has been carefully considered for an unforgettable evening. I am saddened that I have to post quite a critical review but I just had very high expectations for a place that has such positive reviews and also for such a price range in Korea. Moreover as a fellow Korean who came to visit from abroad I was just very excited and looking forward to having some great traditional Korean cuisine. Firstly right away when I entered the private room, I noticed multiple things that could've just not been there had the staff just been a little more attentive and caring towards the cleaning and keeping of the room. Things such as, a dirty stained mirror, an air vent hanging from the ceiling loosely, a shakey table and lastly, visible spider webs and dust hanging from multiple spots of the chandelier and ceiling. I want to once again highlight that these things would not bother me if the restaurant was not presenting itself as a higher end establishment with a higher than average price range. This alone would've not led me to write a critical review... however the food was the biggest disappointment to me overall. The staff were very friendly and also explained each dish with care and detail. In many of the dishes the ingredients seemed almost old and not fresh. Some vegetables or pieces of meat were extremely dry and tough... the biggest disappointment overall was the grilled eel with a sweet chili paste sauce brushed on top. Eel dishes are notoriously known to be difficult to master because if not cooked properly the dish will taste very fishy and have a weird texture and this is unfortunately exactly what happened. The marinade was not sweet enough to balance out the specific scent of the fish and moreover (I'm not sure if it's visible in the picture) the eel was not grilled properly at a high temperature which led to parts of it feeling almost slimey and made the fish taste fishy because the fat of the fish wasn't rendered properly. The Korean beef which is known to be of very high quality and quite expensive, was overcooked which led to a good quality cut of meat turning out tough and chewy... the baked baby potato must have been reheated after having being refrigerated for maybe even multiple days as it was just completely dry and had a weird starch like taste to it. I'm not sure if we came on an "off day" of the restaurant however a good restaurant should always ensure a similar great taste and experience. We also seemed to be the only customers on a Sunday evening at 6pm. The staff was very attentive and kind but the quality of the food was not acceptable at all. I hope that the food will be improved as the building of the restaurant is genuinely so beautiful but the food, interior and state of the rooms cannot keep up with the stunning traditional building at all. I hope the review doesn't come off as too harsh... but we did pay around 600 000 won (3 people in total) which translates to around 350 euros. Hopefully this review helps some people out!
