Fast food in Seoul goes beyond the international chains that line main streets. Korean fried chicken brands, burger joints using Korean beef, and kimbap shops that operate at the speed of fast food have created a parallel fast-food culture that is distinctly local. Food courts in subway stations and department basements serve hot meals with the speed and consistency of fast food but often with the quality of a sit-down restaurant.
Yongsan-gu contains Itaewon — Seoul's most international neighbourhood — as well as the scenic Hannam district and Yongsan Electronics Market. Itaewon's food scene reflects its global community: Indian, Middle Eastern, African, and American restaurants share streets with high-end Korean and Japanese establishments. It's also where many of Seoul's foreign chefs have set up their most ambitious projects.
In Hannam-dong, one of Korea's best neighborhoods, this is a place where you can enjoy delicious baekban (traditional Korean rice bowls). I heard celebrities often stop by. The food is delicious, and the owner has a great attitude!
A place I occasionally visit for a delicious lunch. The bean sprout salad is totally my style.
This is the restaurant where local people enjoyed. We came to try the local taste and atmosphere. We ordered Pork to grilled and Fresh Tofu soup, both were excellent. The side dishes were also delicious. The owner was very nice and friendly though spoke little English. Recommended.
