Gangbuk-gu includes the scenic Bukhansan National Park foothills and is known for hiking culture and the restaurants that serve hikers before and after their climbs — hearty soups, makgeolli, and Korean pancakes have been the fuel of choice for generations of weekend walkers.
It's open late, so there are quite a few people who come to Suyu to drink. I went when it was run by a single person, but it came out pretty quickly. I think they use frozen noodles.
I've been coming here since I was in high school, and it's so delicious. I usually get the spicy chicken rice bowl and cheese pork cutlet, and I never get tired of it. It takes 43 minutes just to get there, but I can't give it up.
