Korean cuisine (hansik) is built around balance — fermented sides (banchan), a steaming bowl of rice, and a main dish that changes with the season. Meals are served all at once rather than in courses, and sharing dishes at the table is the norm. The depth of flavor comes from slow-fermented pastes like doenjang (soybean) and gochujang (chili), which form the backbone of soups, stews, and marinades across the country.

鍾路区
Jongno-gu is the historic heart of Seoul, containing Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, and Insadong's antique street. The area balances ancient and modern — traditional Korean restaurants, teahouses, and street food vendors operate alongside contemporary galleries and specialty coffee shops. Eating here feels like a connection to centuries of Seoul food culture.
Excellent food and service. The waiting room was nice. The pork set menu was tasty

Our first dinner near the accommodation had to be Korean BBQ, a must-eat when in South Korea! We picked a spot with solid reviews and sizzling vibes.
The interior was simple, with each table equipped with a smoke sucker to keep things comfortable. The vibes were lively, locals gathered around, chatting and grilling, making the atmosphere feel warm and authentic.
A generous spread of banchan was laid out before us, we especially enjoyed the pickles and creamy potato corn salad. Himalayan salt, wasabi, and garlic were also provided to perfectly pair with the grilled meats.
We ordered the Korean Beef Sirloin, a 130g cut served with oyster mushrooms and green chilli on the side, simple, fresh, and ready for the grill.
Sirloin (130g) - ₩ 39,000
The 160g pork belly came lightly sprinkled with ground black pepper. Just look at those distinct layers, a beautiful lean-to-fat ratio ready to sizzle!
Pork Belly (160g) - ₩ 17,000
Multiple staff took turns to assist with grilling the sirloin, and it was done to perfection, tender chunks neatly stacked atop the grilled oyster mushrooms.
Sizzling slabs of pork belly grilled over charcoal, we loved the clean, non-greasy finish and the simple yet satisfying black pepper seasoning.
We could really taste the quality in the pork belly, grilled to perfection with some nicely charred edges. The service staff thoughtfully arranged the cooked, bite-sized pieces alongside pickled vegetables on the grill plate, letting us know to help ourselves when ready.
Just having the premium pork and Korean beef alone was already deeply satisfying. But the additional order of kimchi fried rice took it up a notch, served in a classic metal tin, topped with a sunny-side-up egg, and finished with sprinkles of seaweed and sesame. Simple, comforting, and the perfect way to end our Korean BBQ feast.
Kimchi Fried Rice - ₩ 5,000
Our first dinner in Korea couldn’t have been more satisfying: premium cuts of pork and beef, attentive service, and the comforting finish of kimchi fried rice. It was a warm welcome to the culinary richness of South Korea, and a meal that set the tone just right for the rest of our journey.

We found this location close to the city center, which was highly convenient. This is a very good choice for a Korean BBQ if you want to experience it for the first time. The servers don't speak much English, but they are very helpful and lead the cooking process in a very energetic manner. What attracted us about the menu was the two group combos which made it easier for us to order. Seating available upstairs as well
