Korean cuisine (hansik) is built around balance — fermented sides (banchan), a steaming bowl of rice, and a main dish that changes with the season. Meals are served all at once rather than in courses, and sharing dishes at the table is the norm. The depth of flavor comes from slow-fermented pastes like doenjang (soybean) and gochujang (chili), which form the backbone of soups, stews, and marinades across the country.
Eunpyeong-gu sits at the northwestern edge of Seoul, where the city meets the mountains of Bukhansan National Park. The area has a quiet, residential character with a food scene that reflects its local community — traditional Korean home-style cooking, neighbourhood pojangmacha, and teahouses tucked between hiking trail entrances.

すべて見る →Since 1992. I ordered potato soup (small) and udon noodles. The visuals are impressive: two large pieces of pork backbone and whole potatoes. The broth is mild and light. After the soup has fully simmered and the flavor has deepened, I start by cutting through the bones. The bones are generously diced and fall apart smoothly. The soft potatoes are also delicious. The geotjeori kimchi, with its strong, fermented seafood flavor and strong seasoning, is the restaurant's signature dish. I always finish with fried rice. The basic potato soup was decent, but the oogeoji potato soup might be even better. I had a delicious meal and left.
The food here is very bland in the beginning but as the ingredients blend into the soup stock with time, it gets better. But that takes about thirty minutes.. The service here is TERRIBLE. The server asked us to move the kimchi to our plates as if she was going to give us more kimchi for free but she charged us. This was unprompted on our side and she also never said she was charging us. 맛은 좋지만 정말 불친절해서 다시는 가지 않을 것 같네요.
