Many younger Korean chefs trained abroad and returned to open restaurants that blend European technique with Korean ingredients and sensibility.
Seodaemun-gu houses Sinchon and Ewha — university neighborhoods known for affordable food, vibrant nightlife, and a youthful dining culture. The area is dense with budget-friendly Korean restaurants, late-night delivery options, and cafés that stay open until the early hours. It's a neighbourhood where eating well on a student budget is entirely achievable.

すべて見る →The restaurant is quite clean, and the food looks quite good. The taste is also quite good. However, the portions are small for the price. They seem to have focused too much on the presentation of the food. They are friendly, but they lack customer service. Do you have pickles? If it were self-service, they wouldn't have provided any guidance. If they didn't already have them, it's disappointing considering the price. It would have been nice to have a basket for bags and other belongings, but there isn't. There is parking, but please note that there aren't many spaces. I won't be returning.
The food itself is a work of art. The flavors are harmonious, and the prices are reasonable. The restaurant is also beautiful, making it perfect for taking pictures. There's a 100% wait on weekends.
A quiet brunch spot in Yeonhui-dong. It can also be used as a cafe. I wonder how people find out about this great place; it is always crowded. They have a menu perfect for a casual meal, ranging from pasta and salads to Eggs Benedict and toast. Naturally, the flavors are refreshing and highlight the natural taste of the ingredients, which I really appreciate. I have been there often, but this time I focused on ordering drinks, and I highly recommend the strawberry ade. It is a high-quality ade made with fresh strawberries that is sweet and refreshing. Vin chaud is also great for cold weather. When using it as a cafe, the oven pancakes are a perfect side dish. Just like the calm neighborhood atmosphere, the shop has a cozy vibe, so I am always satisfied with my visits.
