Gangseo-gu in western Seoul is a rapidly developing residential and commercial district near Gimpo Airport. The area has a growing food scene with a mix of established Korean restaurant clusters and newer commercial developments bringing café chains and international options to the expanding population.
Finally visited Namchunne Charcoal Chicken Ribs, and I was blown away! Both the salt-grilled and marinated chicken(dakgalbi) were incredibly delicious. The owner is so kind and generous, which made the experience even better. The fluffy steamed egg and savory soybean paste stew are a must-order. They pair perfectly with the chicken and make the best side dishes for Soju! Chicken + stew is the ultimate combo. You have to try this place!
We visited Namchunne Sutbul Dakgalbi close to Hwagok Station and were very satisfied with the meal. The marinated charcoal-grilled chicken looked spicy at first, but the seasoning was actually mild and well-balanced, not overpowering at all. The charcoal flavor really stood out, and the chicken was tender and fresh. The buckwheat noodles (makguksu) were a great match with the grilled chicken. With a high buckwheat content, the noodles had a nutty flavor and paired especially well with both the meat and the sauce. The soybean paste stew was also surprisingly good for the price — light, clean, and comforting. The restaurant is spacious and clean, making it suitable for groups, couples, or family gatherings. Parking is available right in front of the restaurant, which is a big plus in Seoul. Overall, it’s a great place if you’re looking for charcoal-grilled dakgalbi around Hwagok Station.
Salt & spicy flavors were both perfect, and the homemade sauces were incredible. Great service with waiting benefits and tasty sides like makguksu and fluffy steamed eggs. Highly recommend!
