Korean fried chicken is double-fried for an extra-crispy shell, then tossed in soy-garlic, sweet-spicy yangnyeom, or honey-butter glazes. Delivery culture made fried chicken a staple in every neighbourhood, and dedicated chicken restaurants serve it alongside cold draft beer, radish cubes, and pickled side dishes.
Seongdong-gu's Seongsu-dong has transformed from an industrial zone into Seoul's most talked-about food and culture district. Nicknamed 'Seoul's Brooklyn,' it hosts artisan roasters, pop-up restaurants, and concept cafés in renovated factories alongside high-end boutiques. The food scene rewards curiosity — the best spots are often down an alleyway or behind an unmarked door.
I followed a 70-year-old executive with a passion for food to his regular restaurant, and the pig's feet were deliciously moist. There are so many great pig's feet restaurants in Seoul, so I don't know if it's anything special, but I wonder where they got them from. The Vietnamese waiters speak so beautifully and charmingly. The owner must be very good at managing his staff.
