Chimaek — fried chicken and beer — is one of Korea's most beloved combinations, especially for weekend evenings. Korean fried chicken is double-fried for an extra-crispy shell, then tossed in soy-garlic, sweet-spicy yangnyeom, or honey-butter glazes. Delivery culture made fried chicken a staple in every neighbourhood, and dedicated chicken restaurants serve it alongside cold draft beer, radish cubes, and pickled side dishes.
Seongdong-gu's Seongsu-dong has transformed from an industrial zone into Seoul's most talked-about food and culture district. Nicknamed 'Seoul's Brooklyn,' it hosts artisan roasters, pop-up restaurants, and concept cafés in renovated factories alongside high-end boutiques. The food scene rewards curiosity — the best spots are often down an alleyway or behind an unmarked door.
Awesome Seolungtang and normal Kalgooksoo. The Kimchi goes well with Seolungtang. I will visit again and have some Mandoo.
I was looking for a place to eat near Wangsimni Station when I went there. There were more people inside than I expected. I guess they were all Wangsimni residents?? I ordered dumplings, seolleongtang, and chicken kalguksu. The dumplings were handmade, really big and delicious. Personally, I liked the seolleongtang much better than the chicken kalguksu. They came with noodles, so it was super filling, and the broth was rich!! The kimchi was so delicious that I ate more than I expected, but on the way out, I saw they were selling kimchi. Hahaha. Seolleongtang, radish kimchi... dumplings and kalguksu... I had such a delicious meal.
Probably the most comforting bowl of kalguksu I ever had. The dried anchovy broth is so pronounce and flavorful. Chewy noodles. And a touch of seaweed to further enhance the flavor. Pure bliss. It’s a must eat! Mandu- give it a miss
