Dongjak-gu spans the southern bank of the Han River, with Noryangjin Fish Market — one of Seoul's largest wholesale and retail seafood markets — as its defining food landmark. Eating fresh sashimi at the market itself, surrounded by tanks of live seafood, is a quintessential Seoul experience available around the clock.
I visited Noryangjin Fish Market for my first round after dinner. It was full, and there were a lot of people coming for a second round, so it was a bit noisy. But perhaps because it's a large market, I was able to get a seat right away.
After enjoying sashimi at Noryangjin Fish Market, I always head here for my second round! The atmosphere is lively, the food is great value, and the clientele is diverse, making it a great choice for any gathering! The menu items are well-named, with names like "Yang Hyeon-jong Samjin Hasaero" (Saero Soju), "Winner Kia Cheoeumcheoreom" (Cheoeumcheoreom Soju), "Kim Do-young Home Run Fresh" (Fresh Soju), and "Kia Champil Overwhelming Shrimp," making them a perfect fit for Kia Tigers fans.
After having sundaeguk, I came here for a second round. The staff seemed to like baseball. They showed me to a quieter seat and were very considerate. It's a great place for baseball fans to watch. It's great for beer and a quick bite. There's a variety of snacks and desserts, which is nice.
