I think I'll be searching for gamjatang restaurants ever since Ilmijib. I haven't had gamjatang in years, so it felt even more nostalgic. The broth was rich and thick, a signature gamjatang flavor. It was so good, and the radish kimchi tasted so good, it paired so well with the spicy radish kimchi. I ate every last drop of the rice. This is a Gasan gem! 👍🏻

A gamjatang (spicy gamja stew) chain restaurant
Located on the first floor of the Star Valley building, a five-minute walk from Exit 5 of Gasan Digital Complex Station,
this gamjatang restaurant offers a single-serving bowl of rice for 10,000 won.
As the photo shows, the portions are quite generous,
but unlike other gamjatang restaurants,
it comes with a generous amount of meat.
I'm not sure if this amount of meat is normal,
but I hope it'll be the same in a year.
This is the first time I've left over meat while eating gamjatang with rice.
It seems to have at least 1.5 times more meat than other gamjatang restaurants that cost 10,000 won.
The broth looks bland,
but you can taste the clean, refreshing flavor of galbitang (spicy short rib soup).
Of course, some people may not like this kind of flavor,
but I personally think it's a good balance.
The side dish, kkakdugi (sliced radish kimchi), has a sweet, raw radish flavor,
making it a good combination with the meat and soup. And eating sliced garlic and a piece of meat together gives it a nice meat restaurant feel.
I wonder if it's really necessary to go to Seongsu-dong.
The restaurant is larger than expected,
and there are quite a few two-person tables, making it convenient for solo diners.
The fact that the tables aren't small makes it even better.
Order at the table and pay at the counter later.
It's recently opened, so it's clean,
and the white color scheme adds to the appeal.
This is the real working-class style.
