Japanese cuisine has deep roots in Seoul, shaped by geographic proximity and a long shared history. Seoul-style Japanese restaurants range from affordable sushi conveyor belts and ramen shops to high-end omakase counters. Quality fish is flown in daily, and Korean chefs often put their own spin on Japanese classics — thicker broths, spicier condiments, and seasonal Korean ingredients woven into traditional recipes.
Gangbuk-gu includes the scenic Bukhansan National Park foothills and is known for hiking culture and the restaurants that serve hikers before and after their climbs — hearty soups, makgeolli, and Korean pancakes have been the fuel of choice for generations of weekend walkers.
I'm a Japanese person living in Korea. We visited with four other Koreans. It wasn't crowded, so we were able to get in right away. We ordered the all-you-can-eat soy sauce and yangnyeom gejang and the soy sauce sau. Everything was delicious, the prices were reasonable, and the owner (the older lady) looked unfriendly but was actually very kind. ☺️ lol The Korean people we went with weren't used to eating gejang, so we were all a bit flustered, but the owner took pity on us and taught us a lot, even grilling and bringing us some chijimi (a type of pancake) that you can make yourself. She also told us that the shell only comes out the first time, and that it's delicious if you put rice in the shell! Hope that helps! ♡ It was so delicious that I recommended it to a Japanese friend, who immediately went back and contacted me to say, "My friend who went with me loved it and was very satisfied!" It seems like it's a local shop and they're not used to dealing with foreigners, so if there's someone who can speak Korean, ordering might go more smoothly 😊 4 years old, 4 years old. I want to know what I want to know. I want to know what I want to say I love you!! I love you!! I love you!! I want to know what I want to know :) I'm in love with you It's so hot! It's so hot🦀

I went there two years ago, and it's been a while since I've been back. They have a self-service bar for fried eggs, jeon, and ramen. I can't stand fishy food, so I only had two soy sauce marinated crabs and one marinated crab. The marinade was slightly spicy, but delicious. It was convenient to be able to get the crabs for yourself. The refills seemed a bit thin. The restaurant only has about 10 tables, but it was so crowded that I wondered why, and it turned out to be featured on a variety show. It wasn't a must-visit restaurant.
