Visited for lunch on a weekday.
Bosam (boiled pork belly) was served individually.
The side dishes were neatly presented, but
the tuna stew that came with the stew was salty (everyone in the group found it salty). The pickled cabbage under the dried radish in the dish was particularly salty, so some of us complained and had to have extra dried radish.
Overall, the food was neat and delicious.
Bossam is a dinner menu? There's a reason this place has a line starting at lunchtime‼️
I saw the news that Gaksi Bossam, a famous restaurant in Hapjeong-dong, was opening in Mullae-dong,
in a comment on @jypark0428's feed, and I've been waiting to go.
It's a relatively new place, and its location, between Mullae Station and Yeongdeungpo-gu Office, is a bit awkward, so I naturally assumed it would be quiet... Osan, Gyeonggi-do 😮💨
I was surprised to see it packed even at 6 p.m. on a Monday.
In the spacious interior, the atmosphere was like a banquet hall, with seniors already enjoying refreshing makgeolli (rice wine) in the air. 🥳🎊 (It's quite noisy).
The bossam, with its various fillings like fermented skate, oysters, and seasoned whelk, is the star of the show. They pile the meat up like a tower, and it was surprisingly generous, so I had some leftovers 🥺
The well-cooked pork belly was tender and juicy, and my friend told me that Oh Seok-dae, not Hong Seong-dae, is the epitome of bossam! 👩🏻🏫
Wrapped in spicy radish greens and pickled cabbage, it was a delightful mix of oiliness and spiciness. 👌🏻
We went for dinner, but lunch is bound to be even more crowded.
The bossam set menu costs 9,500 won, and it comes with high-quality, generous portions of bossam meat
and tuna kimchi stew, making it perfect for a solo dine-in.
Even Hye-ja is so different from Hye-ja that it's not Kim Hye-ja, but King Hye-ja.👑
It's affordable, friendly, and delicious, so if you're ever in Mullae, please go.🙏🏻
