すべて見る →Located in Myeongdong, "Busan Pork Soup Rice" is a restaurant that opens early in the morning, making it a great breakfast option for travelers. We decided to eat here on the second morning of our trip. This time, there were four of us, and we ordered two servings of pork soup rice and two servings of pork rib soup to try different flavors. The pork soup rice had a very rich broth with a strong pork bone aroma. The restaurant also provides condiments similar to those used in Busan, allowing you to adjust the flavor to your liking for added complexity. The pork rib soup is made with pork spine bones, resulting in incredibly tender meat that easily separates with chopsticks and practically melts in your mouth. The broth itself is also very smooth. Overall, this restaurant is perfect for a morning energy boost. The portions are generous, and the food has a distinctly Busan feel. If you're staying near Myeongdong, it's a great choice for breakfast or brunch. And at only 10,000 won per serving, it's a great deal.
I'm writing this for any foreign tourists visiting Seoul who are considering trying Gukbap (a representative Korean soup dish). PLEASE go to a different restaurant. This is, without a doubt, the worst Gukbap I have ever tasted in my entire life. The soup has no depth of flavor and is overwhelmed by a strong, unpleasant pork smell. The meat was dry, tough, and even didn't taste fresh. A good Gukbap place must have good Kimchi, but even the Kimchi here was not good. The restaurant is named "Busan Pork Gukbap," but the owner's accent sounded distinctly Chinese-Korean (Joseonjok), not like someone from Busan... Seriously, just go somewhere else.
One of the few that opens on Sunday. A great family set-up offering pork in soup. Simple menu and definitely authentic Korean, great kimchi too.
