Overview
The Hansung Baekje Museum directly protects and manages relics deeply related to the history of the Baekje royal capital, conducting research, exhibition, and education to widely promote Seoul's 2,000-year history. It is a museum that sheds light on Seoul's ancient history and culture, and reflects on the meaning and value of cultural heritage. The first symbolic exhibit encountered in the museum lobby is the cross-section of Pungnap earthen fortress wall, which was thinly peeled off and presented for display. Exhibition Hall 1 is arranged to tell stories about Seoul's Paleolithic, Neolithic, Bronze, and Early Iron Age cultures, tailored to the space of the Han River basin. Exhibition Hall 2 covers the 493 years of the Hanseong capital period, when I was founded, growing, and developing in present-day Seoul, while Exhibition Hall 3 covers the struggles between Baekje, Goguryeo, and Silla along the Han River and the history of Baekje after the fall of Hanseong.
