Overview
Samryongsa Temple is a temple belonging to the Cheontae Order of Korean Buddhism, located at the foot of Yongmasan Mountain in Jungnang-gu, Seoul, where about 3,000 Buddhists engage in devotional activities. Even in the city center, it preserves the beautiful appearance of a traditional temple. It consists of one basement floor and four above-ground floors (total floor area 4,297㎡). The fourth floor houses the Great Buddha Hall, the third floor the Beophwa Sammai Hall, the second floor the Small Beopdharma Hall and a rest area for devotee groups, and the first floor includes the clan office, a memorial room, and kitchen. Major Buddhist groups include the Samhwa Choir, Youth Association, Jinyeo Tea Ceremony, Jeongto Association, Udambara Flower Arrangement Association, and Yeonhwa Volunteer Society. It is a temple where various Buddhist events and cultural activities harmoniously blend, and it is highly connected to the local community.
