Overview
Located in the eastern district of Odaesan National Park, Cheonghak-dong Sogeumgang is named Sogeumgang because its unique rock formations resemble a small Geumgangsan. It is also called Cheonghaksan because it resembles a crane spreading its wings. The main peak is Hwangbyeongsan, at 1,470m above sea level, forming Noin Peak, and the Maebong peak on the left resembles a crane spreading its wings. Through the dense forest of the Sogeum River, the beauty of the rock formations is revealed, captivating visitors at a glance. Stretching over 40 ri from the first site of Mureung Valley, there are many scenic spots such as Mureung Valley, Sipjaso, Myeonggyeongdae, Sikdangam, Guryong Waterfall, Gunja Waterfall, and the Manmulsang, as well as Geumgangsanseong (also known as Amisanseong), where Crown Prince Maui of Silla is said to have raised the banner of Silla's revival and trained his troops.
