Korean cuisine (hansik) is built around balance — fermented sides (banchan), a steaming bowl of rice, and a main dish that changes with the season. Meals are served all at once rather than in courses, and sharing dishes at the table is the norm. The depth of flavor comes from slow-fermented pastes like doenjang (soybean) and gochujang (chili), which form the backbone of soups, stews, and marinades across the country.
Yeongdeungpo-gu's Times Square mall and Yeouido financial district generate a diverse food scene of department store restaurants, business lunch spots, and the Han River cycling culture that has made outdoor food and coffee culture a fixture of the waterfront.
really good value octopus restaurant, services was not very supportive
Awful. Was kicked out before I could order anything. I came here as a group of three women and wanted something not to heavy and asked the owner for a recommendation but told him that we had eaten previously so we can't eat too much so we asked if there was something not too heavy he could recommend, as we were really craving octopus. As a response he very coldly said, "Then leave. Get out. To say you ate somewhere else before coming here is absolutely ridiculous. Get out." My group and I were neither intrusive nor, impertinent. We simply asked what he could recommend us that wasn't a too heavy as we had eaten prior. In an extremely rude tone and he continued to tell us to get out and ignored any of our attempts to ask him what the issue was and completely ignored our apologies. Completely ruined our day. There are plenty of amazing restaurants with stellar service in this neighborhood. Don't bother wasting your time here. Disgusting behavior.
