Gwangjin-gu's Konkuk University area has a dense concentration of restaurants catering to students — affordable, diverse, and open late. The area is a reliable destination for budget Korean dining: tteokbokki, kimbap, and pork cutlet restaurants line the streets near the university gates.
When I heard that Mala Skewers, which many people eat when traveling to Shanghai, had opened for the first time in Korea, I personally really, really like Mala, so I went there with a Chinese friend. My friend loved it so much that it reminded her of the taste she used to eat in China when she was young, and it suited my Korean palate perfectly. Above all, the store was very clean and it was a 2-3 minute walk from Hongik University Station, so it was very accessible. There were many kinds of skewers and the price was good, so next time I'll go again to try the Cup Mala Tang!
A new cup mala tang and mala skewer shop opened, so I went to check it out. The mala skewers start at just 500 won, so the prices are cheap, and they were so delicious! They have a wide variety of mala skewers, as well as soft drinks, draft beer, and iced black tea! The shop was clean, and the food came out quickly, which was a big plus!! I really enjoyed the mala skewers, and I was so curious about the iced black tea slushy that I tried it, Wow, you absolutely have to try the iced black tea slushy!! The combination of skewers and iced black tea slushy is seriously amazing!! The shop was clean, and there was a long line when I paid and left. I was really curious about this new hot spot, and I enjoyed the meal. I'll be back next time to try the cup mala tang!!
Korea's first specialty shop for cup mala and mala skewers! It's a mala skewer place that mala lovers will go crazy for, with a light flavor and perfectly balanced seasoning. The owner and staff were all very friendly, and it was very popular. I plan to go again :) Highly recommended. The food was on point, the hygiene was excellent, and the staff were all very kind. I’d love to visit a few more times.
