I had budaejjigae for lunch and came back a few days later to eat samgyeopsal.

I tend to only look for popular restaurants on TV, blogs, YouTube, TikTok, Naver Maps, and Google, but it is hard to find a meat restaurant with such good value for money. It was to the point where I felt that Opal Samgyeopsal was the third best samgyeopsal I’ve ever had in my life, after the one my mom grills for me or the one I eat while camping. In particular, the budae jjigae was tastier than the one at Odeng Sikdang and had a deep flavor simmered in beef bone broth. The finishing yeolmu guksu (spicy radish noodle soup) was so good that I wanted to pack some to go. Honestly, there might be places that are more expensive but taste better, but I think this level of quality at this price is among the best in Seoul. I am usually a soju drinker, but the taste makes you want to keep drinking makgeolli as well. I think I have been there more than 10 times with various acquaintances. Everyone was extremely satisfied during our gatherings. Honestly, the most important factors for a get-together are location and value for money, followed by taste; the location being in the center of Seoul was great, and the taste was excellent for the price. For long-awaited group gatherings, the meeting itself is often the main focus rather than the food. With its spacious interior and great value, Opal Sikdang was the perfect choice for a get-together. Everyone has different standards for wrapping meat in lettuce. The selection of wraps here was satisfying, including lettuce, pickled radish, wasabi, green onion kimchi, and grilled kimchi. The unlimited rice and self-serve side dishes are also a major attraction. For a second round, there is a chicken restaurant and a karaoke bar right next door, and since the subway is at Changsin Station, it was convenient to get home as well.
