Jongno-gu is the historic heart of Seoul, containing Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, and Insadong's antique street. The area balances ancient and modern — traditional Korean restaurants, teahouses, and street food vendors operate alongside contemporary galleries and specialty coffee shops. Eating here feels like a connection to centuries of Seoul food culture.
This is my go-to spot when I crave lamb skewers in Daehak-ro. There is a POS machine at every table, so you can order right away. The lamb skewers are so delicious. This time, I ordered lamb skewers, eggplant with fish-fragrant sauce, and mapo tofu, and everything was a success. I ordered mapo tofu without high expectations since it is a common dish, but it was much better than I anticipated. I thought it would be really tasty with rice, but I ordered it after I had already eaten too much, so I couldn't have it with rice, which was a shame... Make sure to order it with rice. The owner is friendly, and it is always a great place to visit~
