Korean cuisine (hansik) is built around balance — fermented sides (banchan), a steaming bowl of rice, and a main dish that changes with the season. Meals are served all at once rather than in courses, and sharing dishes at the table is the norm. The depth of flavor comes from slow-fermented pastes like doenjang (soybean) and gochujang (chili), which form the backbone of soups, stews, and marinades across the country.
Gangnam-gu is Seoul's upscale business and entertainment district south of the Han River. Home to K-pop entertainment companies, COEX Mall, and the Apgujeong-Rodeo shopping strip, it attracts young professionals, tourists, and K-drama fans. Restaurants here tend toward the polished and premium, with a density of international cuisine, high-end Korean dining, and trendy cafés.
I went here for dinner with a Korean friend. The seafood restaurant we were hoping to visit was full, so this was our second choice. The food was just average, but the service and taste were so poor that it's not worth going out of your way to visit. The chijimi was probably the best.
* Special Assorted Raw Fish Salad (Small 74,000 won) * Spicy Hairtail Stew (35,000 won) * Stir-fried Odol Bone (15,000 won) * Seafood Ramen (9,000 won) This place, which used to be a charcoal-grilled restaurant, has perfected the combination of charcoal-grilled fish and seafood. For someone who dislikes raw fish, you can enjoy both raw fish and other dishes? There's no reason to complain, right? It was crowded even on a Sunday! They also have an assorted seafood platter, but I ordered raw fish. It was a great place to have a quick bite as a second visit. But the raw fish itself was so good and delicious that I was so full that the raw fish I ordered...acted as a catalyst and I ordered more food to fill myself up. It was so delicious! Visited Bul Gongjang for the first time in a while. Ordered Mungtigi. The accompanying Gyeongsang-style radish soup is perfect as a snack with drinks. It is so refreshing and delicious that I really want to mix rice into it. It’s the kind of taste that makes you want to keep getting refills. It’s so good that I would come back just to eat it even if they sold it for lunch!! As expected, the freshness of the Mungtigi is top-notch!! It’s also the best choice as a snack when you’re full!! Ordered Spicy Chicken Feet. It’s even more delicious with the smoky flavor added. A taste that women will go crazy for. A fried egg is provided as a bonus!! It’s also great that there is a restroom inside the store. As expected, this is a place where the alcohol really tastes good!!! A Dragon Ball shot is a must!
