Overview
Seoul Changpowon is an ecological park themed around irises, one of the world's four major flowers. It is organized into 12 themed areas, including iris gardens, wetland gardens, herb gardens, and medicinal plant gardens. In the iris garden, 300,000 iris plants of 130 different varieties—including yellow iris, Buddha's iris, snailed irises, and fan fan—are planted over an area of about 15,000㎡, allowing visitors to enjoy a wide range of irises. The irises bloom every May~June, and when there are no flowers, their leaf shape resembles orchids, making them ideal for ornamental use. In the wetland garden, observation decks are installed so visitors can observe various aquatic plants and wetland creatures. In the orchid garden, vibrant flowers such as lilies and tulips bloom throughout the seasons. In the medicinal plant garden, 130,000 plants of 70 species are planted, allowing visitors to observe medicinal plants produced domestically. In addition, forest shelters will be created, including a transition observer to observe changes in the colony vegetation, providing residents with ecological education, leisure, and relaxation spaces. It is located 125 meters from Exit 2 of Dobongsan Station on Metropolitan Subway Lines 1 and 7, between Dobongsan and Suraksan. While enjoying nature, you can walk the Dobongsan Trail and take stamps.
