Overview
The National Theatre was established on April 29, 1950, as Asia's first national theatre. It is the only production theater in Korea that creates traditional arts as contemporary art, featuring the large-scale 'Haeoreum Theater (1,221 seats),' the medium-sized 'Daloreum Theater (512 seats),' the small theater 'Byeollioreum Theater (100 seats),' and the circular stage structure 'Sky Theater' (627 seats). <br >/ Exclusive art organizations include the National Changgeuk Company, National Dance Company, and National Gugak Orchestra, and the orchestra resonates with the public through a variety of new works and repertoire pieces. <br />Since introducing a repertoire season system in September 2012, the company has led Korea's leading performing arts ecosystem balance and harmony as a leading performing arts institution through collaborations with domestic and international art organizations.
