Overview
This is a Bronze Age tomb located in Gocheok-dong, Guro-gu. It is located within the grounds of Sinjeong-ri, the earthen fortress of the Three Kingdoms period, behind Gocheok High School. This dolmen was first discovered in 1998 by a Seoul National University research team, and subsequent investigations by professors in related fields suggested that there were no stones of the same shape around the capstone, suggesting it had deviated from its original location. Although the scale is not large, stone chambers have been identified, and judging from the arrangement of the stone pillars, it is presumed to be dolmens. The Gocheok-dong dolmen is the only dolmen in Guro-gu, and together with the surrounding Gocheok-dong relic and the Sanpo site, it serves as a valuable resource for understanding the cultural atmosphere of the Bronze Age area. Since this is part of the Guro Olle Trail course, it's nice to take a light stroll and explore together.
